DE Consulting offers contract detailing services to a number of Structural Steel Fabricators locally, nationally and abroad.
Detailing practices are undertaken utilizing the latest 3D Structural Detailing packages i.e. Prosteel and Tekla, these are backed up with up-to-date workstations and supporting hardware.
Our Detailing Department has the resources and capabilities to work on a multitude of projects simutaneously and are traditionally contracted to prepare shop drawings for the structural steel fabricator. We are also capable of preparing drawings for the Construction Management Company or even directly under the supervison of a structural design engineer.
In the case of working directly under a Sturctural Engineer, this allows for the possibility to provide a structural drawing set direct from the 3D model, which in turn can be used to generate accurate shop drawings from the actual structural model. This streamlines the transition from structural design to shop drawing stage, and means any discrepancies or inadequacies in design information have to be worked through prior to completion of model and issue of the structural drawing set. This dramatically speeds up the time required to generate shop drawings, and could even mean that tenders and pricing could be made directly from the prepared shop drawing package.
Design Engineering operates out of three New Zealand branches; Timaru (Head office), Christchurch & Dunedin.

Detailing can be undertaken at fixed tonnage rates, hourly rates, or lump sum total depending on contract requirements and level of information available at pricing stage.
DE provide other ancillary consultancy services such as civil/structural and mechanical engineering design, NDT, weld inspection, statutory equipment inspection services as well as a full calibration service, to assist with other project works.
